Alexander Albon stayed in Formula 2 for two years, both 2017, where he could only manage 10th place, and 2018, where he did seven places better and secured third in the Championship. This attracted enough attention for Albon to make his debut in 2019 with Toro Rosso. He drove impressively, which allowed him to step up to Red Bull Racing halfway through the 2019 season. Unfortunately, this partnership only lasted until the end of 2020, when he was left without a seat in F1 for 2021. 2022 brought some luck as he got his second chance with Williams, and Albon will be looking to help improve the team in the years to come.
Last year’s Championship placing: 16th
