Franco Colapinto only got a chance to race in F2 for half a season in 2024, before being promoted to Williams in F1 for the remainder of the season. His performance was not enough to initially earn him a spot on the grid for 2025, and started out as a reserve driver for Alpine. However he was quickly sent in to replace Jack Doohan, and Colapinto is set to continue at the team as race driver.
