Pre-Season testing is over after three days of morning and afternoon sessions. So far both Norris and Sainz have been quickest in the first and second days, respectively. Now a third driver for a third team has set the fastest lap time. Mercedes’ George Russell, with a lap time of 1m 29.545s.
The day saw some spins from both Verstappen and Ocon, and during the AM session a piece of bodywork fell off of Ollie Bearman’s Haas. Also to note, Lance Stroll had sat out the morning testing due to feeling not ‘100%’, but was back in the afternoon. Unfortunately, he failed to complete more than 34 laps and switched out with Alonso after realizing he still wasn’t feeling completely well. Alonso was able to get out on the track for the last hour of testing.
Max Verstappen followed just 0.021s behind Russell, and Alex Albon was not far behind either of them, the Williams driver sitting in third. Piastri slotted him and his McLaren into fourth, and Pierre Gasly and Lewis Hamilton were fifth and sixth. Tsunoda, Ocon, Leclerc, and Antonelli all rounded out the top 10, placing seventh, eighth, ninth, and tenth, respectively. Lando Norris landed in eleventh, followed by Doohan in twelfth. Sauber’s Nico Hulkenberg set the thirteenth fastest time, and fourteenth went to Isaak Hadjar. Alonso only finished fifteenth after taking Stroll’s place both in the morning and afternoon. And Bortoleto and Bearman slid into sixteenth and seventeenth, which were the last spots during today’s testing.
So, that concludes 2025 Pre-Season testing! Now, we don’t have many more days to go before the first race of the season.
