FP2 was just as calm as the first practice session, and McLaren are looking to have a big advantage over the other top teams after finishing the session with Piastri and Norris first and second respectively. Fernando Alonso unfortunately had a steering wheel issue, where the wheel also unusually popped off while the Aston Martin was still on track. Luckily they fixed the issue and Alonso was back out with 27 minutes still left in the session. Meanwhile Mercedes was looking strong, however they can’t seem to beat the McLaren. George Russell did the next best thing and finished third fastest at the end of FP2, and his teammate Kimi finished 5th.
