Charles Leclerc has signed a new multi-year contract extension with Scuderia Ferrari, the team confirmed today, putting an end to months of speculation about the Monegasque driver’s future.
The announcement was made on the eve of Leclerc’s home race, the Monaco Grand Prix, taking place this weekend. It is the latest in a series of long-term deals Leclerc has signed since first joining Ferrari in 2019, with his previous contract, which ran through the end of the 2029 season, having been signed in January 2024.
The precise length of the new agreement was not disclosed, though Ferrari’s statement that Leclerc will “continue to wear the team’s colors for the coming seasons” strongly suggests another multi-year arrangement. It’s expected that this new deal is to keep Leclerc at Maranello beyond 2030.
The 28-year-old expressed genuine emotion at the news. “I couldn’t be happier to continue this journey with Scuderia Ferrari HP,” Leclerc said. “It has always been so much more than just a team to me. It’s the team I’ve loved and dreamt of being part of since I was a child, and after all these years it has become a second family.”
During his time with Ferrari so far, Leclerc has accumulated eight grand prix victories, 27 pole positions, and 52 podiums, and currently sits third in the 2026 Drivers’ Championship with 75 points.
Both Leclerc and teammate Lewis Hamilton have collected two podium finishes across the opening five races of the season, with the Scuderia showing improved form under the new regulations. The dream of finally delivering a World Championship to Maranello remains the driving force behind Leclerc’s loyalty, and now that pursuit continues in red for the foreseeable future.
