Norris Quickest in FP1 in Zandvoort Ahead of Piastri and Stroll

All 20 drivers were back on track after their cleansing summer break, and were ready for set some fast lap times at Zandvoort. The practice session was not without it’s incidents, though, as Lewis Hamilton suffered a spin and brought out yellow flags, as well as flat spots on his tires. Red flags were later thrown for Kimi Antonelli, who had beached his Mercedes in the gravel at Turn 9. The session resumed with 40 minutes left, and Norris came out on track to beat Max Verstappen’s quickest time. When the session had ended, it was Lando who was leading a McLaren 1-2, and Lance Stroll managed an impressive P3 in his Aston Martin, while his teammate was behind in fourth. Alex Albon was fifth, while Verstappen was P6. The Red Bull driver had an eventful time after the session had ended, going off track and getting beached after a practice start. George Russell was P7, and Carlos Sainz, Gabriel Bortoleto, and Pierre Gasly rounded out the top ten.
